Dermal Fillers
As we start to grow older, our bodies tend to produce less collagen every year. Collagen is the substance responsible for providing our skin’s core structural support. When the body stops producing collagen, it leads to volume loss in your facial areas. This volume loss reflects in sunken cheeks, creases and lines, and an overall older appearance.
Dermal fillers will help return some of that lost volume.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers help augment areas that have sunk or are showing signs of volume loss. When injected under a crease or a frown line, the filler restores volume to the area, pushing the skin back upwards and erasing the wrinkle.
How Are Fillers Used?
Dermal fillers, also known as injectable implants, soft tissue fillers, or wrinkle fillers are medical device implants approved by the FDA for use in helping to create a smoother and/or fuller appearance in the face, including nasolabial folds (the lines extending from the sides of the nose to the edges of the mouth), cheeks, chin, lips, and back of the hands.
Since some dermal fillers are naturally absorbed over time, patients may need to repeat the procedure after some time to maintain the desired effect. Successful results will depend on the underlying tissue structure and the volume and type of filler used. The time that the effect lasts depends on the filler material and the area where it is injected. .

Frequently Asked Questions
At Timeless Essence, we will first apply an anesthetic ointment to the skin to numb the area. Then we will use a syringe with a small needle to inject the filler into the decided area of treatment. It is not unusual to have some stinging or discomfort while the filler is being added. This sensation is temporary. The fillers are not permanent and will need routine upkeep if you would like to maintain the results.
Additionally, we suggest that you continue to use sunscreen daily to protect your skin. This will help keep the dermal filler intact and lessen the number of visits to our office you must make.
